Based on oral tradition the name Ank originates from the German word "anker”, which in Slovene means "anchor”. In the times when the valley was covered by a big lake, there used to be a harbour for boats. Ank’s homestead is known as one of the first settlements in Jezersko, as it has remained here for more than thousand years.
Ank’s homestead developed into significant farm with wood business as the main activity. It’s location at the harbour made it the most important intersection between water and mainland.
Access: From the main road to Jezerski vrh, take the second exit left after the sign for Planšarsko jezero, continue on a gravel road all the way to the farm.
