Cheese Workshops!

Amidst the lush green meadows and stunning mountain scenery,
you’ll find the Fürstenhof organic cheesery. A place the former
archiepiscopal princes from Salzburg valued as a place for rest
and contemplation. Therefore the “Fürsten” in Fürstenhof, meaning
“prince” in German. Today, Jersey cows graze in the meadows
around the farm and their high-quality milk is processed to
make delicious organic raw milk cheese. Niki Rettenbacher and
his family produce over 30 excellent raw milk cheese varieties
by hand.
You can also visit the delightful farm shop. Here you can find out
more about and sample some of the delicious different cheeses,
as well as choose from the range of jams, chutneys, vinegars,
oils, pastas, chocolates and even cosmetics.
Opening times: Monday to Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“Make your own cheese” workshop: As part of a behind-
the-scenes “from milk to cheese” tour, you can
make your own cheese (approx. 850 g per participant),
participate in a tasting and become a Salzburg
“Alpine Summer” cheesemaker (including a certificate).
