Lebensweg - additional stage 11b: alternative route "Naturpark Jauerling"

Zeining – in the village (house no. 5) turn left – on the Zeining-Jauerling trail it goes steadily steep uphill to the Turnerwiese on the Jauerling high plateau. Along the Jauerling summit loop, you hike to the summit rock in the forest, the highest point along the Danube. The path then leads down to the nature park house with the Wachau terrace, which offers a unique view into the Spitzer Graben and into the Danube valley. Then it goes uphill again through the Maple Alley back to the Turnerwiese. Past the transmitter, the observation tower, and the Jauerling nature workshop in the Staufer hut, the path then leads downhill through woods to the Gießhübler Cross. From there, you take the old church path and now panorama path (No. 25) down into the village of Zeißing, where the remains of a ruin suggest a former noble residence. Along the road, it goes to Maria Laach with the impressive Gothic pilgrimage church. Following the Three Churches Trail, you reach the Nonnersdorfer Cross and then take the path to Weiten (stage 11) or back to Zeining (18.7 km as a circular hike).
