Visit the first Bessemer converter on the European continent!

Iron mining and smelting were carried out in Turrach until 1909. The museum mainly showcases tools which were used for steel production, foundry and smelting. The museum´s star attraction is the first Bessemer converter used on the European continent which was introduced in Turrach in 1863. When visiting the renovated roaster halls and the show forges will be fully immersed in the reality of the everyday working life of a tinsmith. Special guided tours are possible.
