Hike - To Veste Schaumburg
At the foot of the Heimgarten, located on a pyramid-shaped rock, there was a medieval castle, the Veste Schaumburg, until the last century. Today, only the foundations remain. A cross is located on the summit, which is already visible from Ohlstadt. There is again a magnificent view of Ohlstadt, the Murnau Moss, and to the Staffel and Rieg lakes. The Veste is easily accessible by a somewhat steep path.

The hiking and cycling paths described by us primarily serve forestry purposes; their use is at your own risk (§ 14 para. 1 BWaldG).
Coming from Munich via the A95 (Murnau/Kochel exit) and from Garmisch-Partenkirchen via the B2.

Bus lines: 9607 Murnau - Ohlstadt - Ettal and back (Note: Service only Saturdays on school days of the Ettal monastery school!)
9611 Kochel - Schlehdorf - Großweil - Ohlstadt - Murnau (Note: The open-air museum Glentleiten is only served from April to October!)
Guests of the "Blue Land" region as well as the "Ammergau Alps" use many bus lines and train lines from Murnau to Oberammergau and from Uffing to Garmisch-Partenkirchen free of charge with the electronic guest card or the KönigsCard.
