Cherry Blossom Cycle Route

The Cherry Blossom Cycle Route (B12) is continuously paved.

You can start in any town along the route, as it is a circular route! However, be sure to pay attention to the wind conditions, as cycling even against a gentle breeze can become tiring over time. So whether you cycle clockwise or counterclockwise, it is best to decide according to the current wind direction.

Since many cycle paths are agricultural access roads, agricultural traffic should be expected there. Mutual consideration ensures that these paths remain pleasant to use for everyone.

AUSTRIA

There is a bicycle helmet requirement for children up to 12 years old. Reflective vests are not mandatory at dusk, darkness or in poor visibility, but certainly advantageous. Here is the Austrian bicycle regulation.

Arrival by train:

Lake Neusiedl is easily and comfortably accessible by train. Whether you come from Switzerland, Germany, western or southern Austria: you can change trains comfortably at Vienna Central Station. The regional trains of ÖBB take you in just under 40 minutes to Neusiedl am See station, where coordinated bus and train connections to Jois, Winden, Breitenbrunn, Purbach and Donnerskirchen are also offered. Bicycle transport is possible on most trains: on the Railjet and in EC/IC as well as in Nightjets a reservation for your bike is absolutely necessary. On regional trains, your bike will be taken without reservation subject to availability of bicycle spaces.

This route can be shortened in any of the 5 towns or you can simply take the train to the starting point.
