A cable car takes you up to an altitude of 3,200 m in around 30 minutes, in a unique setting of vast glacial expanses, steep couloirs, snowfields, combes and forest, where you can carve your curves according to your inspiration and ability, far from the marked runs and pylons.

La Grave - La Meije is no ordinary ski resort. You're in the high mountains, on an unsafe site where weather conditions can change abruptly and where you have to manage your insecurity.

Before setting off, you need to take a number of precautions to ensure your peace of mind, your well-being and that of others.

Postponement of the opening of the cable cars from the Meije glaciers to La Grave, initially scheduled for 21 December 2024, to 29 March 2025.

Replacing the existing ski lift on the glacier is also an important step in adapting La Grave's offer to the new climatic requirements. The current ski lift, which is still powered by an internal combustion engine, is no longer a solution, and the work to prepare its ascent track on the glacier is no longer acceptable.
With its replacement, we are aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 75%, as well as reducing the area groomed on the glacier by more than 60%.
Following a number of economic and territorial studies carried out during the Chambon crisis and consultations with the local population, the local authority decided to include the replacement of the ski lifts by the construction of a cable car in its public service contract.
