Acceglio

Following the Maira back to its source, we arrive at Acceglio, a widespread municipality made up of 14 villages and hamlets. It marks the border with France and is crowned by imposing mountains with shapes that leave a lasting impression.

There is a dense network of paths, now used by hikers, linking France to the Maira valley, the scene of trade, escapes (such as that of the Ugolotti family in the 16th century) and emigration after the bloody world wars.
