Calw - Great Baths route

STAMMHEIM - KAISERSTEIN 22.6 KM

• Start at Freibad Stammheim. Ride along Talstraße to the camping site junction. Pass Oberen Mühle and after 300 m turn left uphill. At km 1.1 turn right to the forest edge and go straight down into the Nagold valley. Cross the Nagold bridge (km 3.0) and ascend to Zigeunerfels (km 3.7).

• Ride the lower path about 2 km and before the connecting path turn right. Follow the "Felsenweg" and along the Nagold, the "Walkmühleweg" to Calw. At "Salzgasse" turn right and then left through the pedestrian zone to the shopping center (km 9.7).

• Cross the Nagold to the right and climb steeply past the hospital (km 11.0). Continue uphill to the town edge at the cemetery (km 13.2). At Welschen Häusle turn left and again left (km 13.4) down a steep gravel path to Gasthaus Fuchsklinge (km 15.1).

• Turn right and climb steeply for 300 m on asphalt, then turn left onto the ridge path to Ottenbronn. At km 18.3 turn right onto K 4308. At the junction turn left to the forest edge, then on the curve turn left and again left downhill.

• At km 19.6 go straight on to Kaffeeweg. Turn left to Kaiserstein.

KAISERSTEIN - ALZENBERG 39.2 KM

• Descend steeply on the trail towards the thermal baths down to Bad Liebenzell. Along the promenade and at km 24.0 turn left onto "Wilhelmstraße" to Bad Liebenzell Mineralbrunnen AG. At km 25.4 follow the gravel road along Kollbach uphill.

• At km 26.6 turn left over Kollbach and right towards Oberkollbach. After a left bend at km 29.1 take the forest path right to Oberkollbach. Through Oberkollbach and before the sports field cross the road to Igelsloch (km 30.7). After 700 m turn right, following the asphalt road to Oberreichenbach. At the forest edge turn left and ride on gravel to Oberreichenbach.

• At km 32.4 turn left at the guesthouse "Löwen" and left at the forest edge onto "Mähderweg" down into Schweinbachtal. After 2.2 km uphill and at the next junction turn left. At km 36.1 follow half right the ridge path around Altburger Berg to Alzenberg (km 39.2).

ALZENBERG - ZAVELSTEINER BRÜCKLE 53.0 KM

• Pass through Alzenberg and at km 40.4 take the farm road to Spindlershof. At km 41.6 turn right twice and go uphill through Spindlershof. At the village end turn left and at km 42.2 follow the asphalt road along the forest edge to Oberreichenbach.

• Follow "Clemens-Rüdinger-Weg" right to the road to Oberreichenbach at km 44.4. After 350 m turn left on the gravel road for 500 m uphill. Then turn right to L 346. Turn left onto the cycle path and at the roundabout turn right to Weinstraße (km 46.7).

• On Weinstraße, ride 380 m to the junction "Streuwaldkiefer," then turn left to the parking lot at L 346. Follow the ridge path and at the forest meadow turn left. Cross two connecting roads and follow the trail over the hedges.

• Turn right on the gravel road towards Zavelstein. At the forest edge first half right, then left past the hiking shelter (km 51.7). After 200 m turn left and steeply downhill past the nature reserve to Zavelsteiner Brückle.

ZAVELSTEINER BRÜCKLE - STAMMHEIM 65.6 KM

• Behind Zavelsteiner Brückle turn right downhill for 2.4 km to the junction at Zigeunerfels (km 55.7). Cross the Nagold and on the right above the valley to km 57.9. Turn left and ride about 2 km on the hillside path.

• At the junction "Unterer Baiersbach," first turn right, then left and climb steeply the Glattsteige (km 61.1). Turn left onto the asphalt road to the forest edge (km 61.7) and then right along the forest edge uphill. Just before the forest kindergarten (km 62.5) turn sharply left and bypass Daumenberg.

• Turn left onto the asphalt road (km 64.0) that leads downhill from the forest edge to Stammheim. Continue straight past the school to the swimming pool parking lot.

Arrival by car:

Motorway A8 from Karlsruhe:
Exit Pforzheim-West (approx. 25 km); continue on federal road 463 towards Calw In Calw, continue on B296 towards Stuttgart. Follow B296 towards Herrenberg. Turn at the first junction towards Stammheim. Immediately take the next street on the right towards "Freibad" (Valley Street). After about 1 km, you will reach the Calw-Stammheim outdoor pool. Motorway A8 from Ulm/Stuttgart:
Exit Leonberg (approx. 30 km), continue on federal road 295 towards Weil der Stadt to Calw In Calw, turn left onto B296 towards Herrenberg.

Turn at the first junction towards Stammheim.

Immediately take the next street on the right towards "Freibad" (Valley Street).

After about 1 km, you will reach the Calw-Stammheim outdoor pool.

Motorway A81 from south/Lake Constance:
Exit Gärtringen-Stadtmitte (approx. 20 km), continue on K 1075; near Deckenpfronn take the first exit at the roundabout and continue on B 296 towards Calw.

In Calw-Stammheim, take the 3rd exit at the roundabout near the supermarket (right at the town entrance).

Follow the main street for about 1 km. Then turn left into Jahnstraße.

After about 300 m, you will reach the Calw-Stammheim outdoor pool.

Arrival by train:

Route Pforzheim - Calw - Horb - Tübingen (Kulturbahn). Long-distance train connections (EC, IC, ICE) are best reached in Karlsruhe with connecting trains via Pforzheim (Kulturbahn, line 774). If arriving via Stuttgart, we recommend continuing by S-Bahn S6 Stuttgart - Weil der Stadt with a transfer to bus line 670 to Calw. To get to the starting point at the outdoor pool in Calw-Stammheim, take the DB Bahn Regiobus 763 towards Böblingen/Sindelfingen or line 773 towards Stammheim from Calw central bus station (ZOB). Get off at the stop "Stammheim, Grundschule".

 Walk a few meters along the main street then turn right into Jahnstraße.

After about 300 m you will reach the Calw-Stammheim outdoor pool on your right.

Arrival by bus:

Greater Stuttgart area bus line 670 DB Bahn Regiobus / Volz; (Calw-Weil der Stadt) connection to the S6 Area Böblingen / Sindelfingen:
Bus line 763 DB Bahn Regiobus; Calw-Böblingen (connection to S1) You don’t have to take line 763 all the way to Calw; you can get off at the district of Stammheim at the stop "Stammheim, Grundschule."

Walk a few meters along the main street then turn right into Jahnstraße.

After about 300 m you will reach the Calw-Stammheim outdoor pool on your right.

For arrival via the Calw central bus station (ZOB):

Take preferably the DB Bahn Regiobus 763 towards Böblingen/Sindelfingen or line 773 towards Stammheim. Get off at the stop "Stammheim, Grundschule."

Walk a few meters along the main street and then turn into Jahnstraße.

After about 300 m you will reach the Calw-Stammheim outdoor pool on your right.
