Pure Nature at Lake Aichwald
Lake Aichwald, covering 4.5 hectares, is situated a few kilometres south of Lake Faaker See in the municipality of Finkenstein. It is a bog lake whose water quality is rated as very good due to a number of inflows and outflows. Lake Aichwald is one of Carinthia’s last unspoilt, natural lakes and is surrounded by a 24-hectare landscape conservation area. On the southern shore there is a small, public lido, and in winter the lake is managed by the Wörthersee Ice Skating Club for ice skating.
Lake Aichwald is also the destination of the popular family hike known as the ‘Fuchsfährte’.
