Orsières

Orsières is the administrative centre of the municipality of the same name. In addition to an architecturally interesting centre with a thirteenth-century bell tower, the village is perfectly situated at the gateway to the Grand-St-Bernard Valley and Val Ferret, 15 minutes from the 3 ski areas of La Fouly, Champex-Lac and Vichères-Liddes, as well as Le Châble, the gateway to the Verbier/4 Vallées ski area.

Orsières is also an ideal base from which to discover the many winter activities on offer in the Pays du St-Bernard, including the cross-country ski trails at La Fouly and Champex-Lac, numerous snowshoe and ski touring trails, and the ice rinks at Champex-Lac and Sembrancher.

Food is not just a question of excellent restaurants, but also of artisan producers who, with the ancestral know-how of our elders, have perpetuated the traditions of salted meats, cheeses including the famous raclette AOC produced by the Laiterie d'Orsières, red fruit, mountain honey, rye bread and wine. All these products are showcased in a demonstration basket or as a gift: La Corbeille du Grand Entremont.
